Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications. The technician is accountable to the supervising pharmacist and must comply with federal, state and local laws to ensure patient safety.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, active registration with the State Board, 1 year of pharmacy experience preferred, and PTCB Certification within 6 months of hire; orientation is provided.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application by first day of work, including fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1 year of pharmacy experience preferred, but not required.
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the PTCB within 6 months of hire.
• Other: Complete pharmacy department orientation.

Ability to perform initial trouble shooting for automated pharmacy technology and associated software. Ability to work under time constraints.
