Qualifications

• Valid Alaska Pharmacy Technician license is required.
• National Certification for Pharmacy Technicians is required.
• Clinical Competency must be achieved within 3 months of hire and every 3 years.
• High Risk Competency must be achieved within 3 months of hire and every 3 years.
• Knowledge of sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling is essential.

Responsibilities

• Supports the pharmacist in daily operations.
• Counts medications, labels containers, and dispenses under supervision.
• Maintains dispensing robot and performs routine inventory and restocking.
• Pays attention to medication orders and records transactions in the system.
• Assists in triage and responds to patient requests at the window.
• Ensures accuracy in billing and coordinates with providers when needed.
• Maintains clean, organized pharmacy areas and ensures cold storage compliance.
