Qualifications

  • 6 months experience in a Texas Health hospital pharmacy required.
  • 3 years of hospital experience is strongly preferred.
  • Other IV certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate preparation and delivery of medications.
  • Ensuring accuracy and maintenance of required competencies.
  • Training new employees on routine tasks.

Skills

Pharmacy Technician II – Pharmacy Department

Work location: Texas Health Frisco, 12400 Dallas Parkway, Frisco, TX 75033

Work hours: Full Time Evenings for 36 hrs/week. 7 days on and 7 days off.

Here’s What You Need

+ H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required

+ 6 Months experience in a Texas Health hospital pharmacy Required

+ 3 years of hospital experience is strongly preferred

+ IV sterile compounding certification is strongly preferred

+ RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required

+ Other IV Certification Is Preferred

+ Proficiency in written and verbal English language, computers, the ability to adapt to various software systems, and basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra. The ability to work alone and as part of a team.

What You Will Do

+ Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.

+ Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards, programs and initiatives.

+ Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.

+ Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors. Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel.

+ Manages own time and shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies. Validates competency completion for new employees.
