Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's St. Luke's Health–The Vintage Hospital in Northwest Houston is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in accurate preparation and dispensing of medications.

You will process prescriptions, compound IV medications, manage inventory, assist patients, and operate automated delivery systems, while upholding safety standards and regulatory guidelines. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a patient-focused demeanor,

Qualifications

• High School Graduate, upon hire or GED, upon hire
• 6 months compounding of IV medication
• TX Pharmacy Technician license, upon hire
• ECPT certification, upon hire or PT CB certification, upon hire
• Certified Pharmacy Technician designation upon hire

Responsibilities

• Prepares, distributes and delivers medications per policy and regulatory requirements
• Performs clerical and administrative tasks for daily department operations
• Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels
• Operates automated medication delivery systems and devices
• Participates in quality assurance programs and maintains documentation
• Trained in IV admixture preparation with regulatory compliance

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will provide essential support to pharmacists, ensuring the accurate and efficient preparation and dispensing of medications to patients.

Every day you will expertly process prescriptions, compound medications, manage inventory, and meticulously assist patients with their inquiries, all while adhering to strict safety and regulatory guidelines.

To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a professional, patient-focused demeanor, contributing to safe medication practices and excellent patient care.

• Prepares, distributes and delivers medications in accordance with CSH policies and procedures, The Joint Commission requirements, and Department of Health regulations.
• Performs clerical and administrative tasks in support of the day to day operations of the department.
• Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels
• Operates and maintains automated medication delivery systems and devices.
• Participates in department quality assurance programs and maintains appropriate quality assurance documentation.
• Trained and certified in IV admixture preparation including all regulatory and compliance requirements with required training and documentation. This may include preparation and handling of hazardous / chemotherapy medication if applicable.

*Pay Range*

$23.00 - $32.49 /hour
