Job description

Job Opening: Certified Pharmacy Technician II

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks a Certified Pharmacy Technician II to join its pharmacy team and support a multidisciplinary healthcare team in handling pharmacy operations. The position is located at 2130 Stout Street, Denver, and reports to the Pharmacy Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Colorado Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • Understanding of pharmacy operations in a high-volume ambulatory care setting
  • Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience
  • Experience with insurance billing
  • Board Certification as Pharmacy Technician (PTCB)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee processing of 500-700 prescriptions daily, managing technician staffing and workflow
  2. Train and mentor technicians on pharmacy processes, policies, and compliance with HIPAA & state regulations
  3. Perform pharmacy processing tasks including data entry, prescription filling, customer service, and insurance issues resolution
  4. Handle prior authorization requests and escalate clinical drug-related cases to pharmacists
  5. Process and code pharmacy invoices
  6. Support pharmacy management by troubleshooting operational issues
  7. Maintain confidentiality of patient information according to organizational protocols and HIPAA regulations

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly rate: $22.75 - $26.76, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance options, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, Employee Assistance Program, retirement plan with matching, and paid time off. The benefits effective date is the first of the month after hire.
