Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD seeks a pharmacy technician to assist the pharmacist in hospital pharmaceutical care. You will prepare and process medications under supervision, monitor storage in nursing units, and perform bulk compounding as required.

You will record patient and medication information, help with ordering and stocking supplies, and respond courteously to patients, families, and staff while maintaining patient confidentiality and age-specific care.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) required; registration with the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of employment.

Prepares and processes medication under the supervision of a pharmacist, checks nursing units for proper medication storage, performs bulk compounding and records patient or medication information on computer for validation of pharmacist as required by State law. Orders, stocks, and transports pharmaceutical supplies as needed. Responds to patients, families, visitors, and employees in a courteous, collaborative manner. Considers unique patient needs and demonstrates age-specific competencies. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.Work Schedule:Primarily days Monday - Friday 10 hours shifts with rotating weekends.Education/Experience:High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.Licensure/Certification:Certified as a pharmacy technician by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.Registration with the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy required within 30 days of employment.
