Position Summary

Assists with operational and distribution responsibilities related to Pharmacy Technician functions, including Orlando Health software and hardware systems.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Demonstrates understanding of safety, emergency, and risk management procedures.
• Understands the hospital mission, personnel policies, philosophy, goals, customer service, and objectives of the Pharmacy and Orlando Health.
• Familiar with the duties and processes of the Pharmacy department.
• Ability to identify and utilize resources and departments for customer service and patient care.
• Operates equipment required for pharmacy procedures following instructions, safety regulations, and policies.
• Performs basic Pharmacy Technician procedures consistent with scientific principles, policies, and procedures.
• Performs basic buyer procedures, including drug procurement, in accordance with departmental principles and Orlando Health policies.
• Assists the Pharmacist with medication distribution duties, including aseptic techniques for admixture and tasks related to automated dispensing cabinets.

Qualifications

Education/Training

High school diploma or equivalent.

Licensure/Certification

Maintains current Pharmacy Technician registration with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy.

Experience

Greater than one year up to four years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
