Job Title: Pharmacy Technician I

Role Overview

The Pharmacy Technician, along with other technicians, performs the majority of study dosing activities. Responsibilities include dispensing, preparation, and dosing procedures following WCT procedures and study protocol requirements. The technician works under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Supervisor or Pharmacist and may be indirectly supervised by the Site Director and/or the Manager, Clinical Study. This role does not include supervising other staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend in-house protocol meetings and Sponsor meetings.
  • Perform procedures such as pharmacy documentation, dosing, labeling, dispensation of test articles, drug accountability, temperature and humidity monitoring, blinding procedures, quarantine of test articles, IV pump training, and staff training on special procedures.
  • Research, write, and train staff on study-specific pharmacy procedures.
  • Complete study-specific paperwork and order pharmacy supplies to maintain adequate stock.
  • Read and follow study instructions; sign the study responsibility log.
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification.
  • Active registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).
  • Preferred: IV admixtures certification.
