Job Objective
Under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist and the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor performs routine and basic pharmacy procedures for the operation of an acute care pharmacy to assist the Pharmacists.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists Pharmacist in proper labeling of medications, processes medications orders and those returned to PharmacyAssists Pharmacist in preparing labels.Assures adequate inventory is maintained at all times.Assures and credit and billing tasks are completed in a timely and thorough mannerMaintains professional work habits by organizing workload, setting priorities, completing assignments in a timely manner, utilizing resources appropriately, complying with department program standards and adapts well to changePerforms basic pharmacy procedures such as checking in merchandise, filling physician's orders for pharmacy verification, floor stock, preparing IV's and TPN's.Recognizes departures from the normal and discusses with pharmacistCompetence:

Education and Experience: Education
- High School diploma.
- Associate of Arts or Bachelors Degree preferred.
Experience
- Prior experience in acute care hospital OR a minimum of 2 years experience in a pharmacy preferred.
Required Licensure and/or Certifications:
- Current State of California Pharmacy Technician License
- CPhT preferred

Key Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Works primarily in an office environment.
- Requires ability to stand, sit or walk around department and facility most of the day.
- Some bending, lifting less than 20 lbs and occasional reaching above the shoulder.
- Typing, answering phones and working around automated equipment.
- Potential for exposure to dangerous or toxic medications.
- May need PPE if preparing chemotherapy.
