• Basic knowledge of Pharmacy Care modalities, terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, terminology, drug use and aseptic techniques, standards and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs limited pharmacy services and duties associated with the stocking, preparation, labeling, dispensing and delivery of medications.
• Helps patients and medical staff with nonjudgmental questions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist preceptor.
• Answers incoming phone calls and directs callers to the right person for service.
• Communicates with team when inventory is low and assists with drug purchasing and inventory control.
• Performs tasks involving pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records and preparation of orders for drugs.
• Enter medication orders from doctors' sheets or prescriptions and ensure correct billing data and charges.
• Resolves discrepancies and runs reports from the automated dispensing machine.
• Cleans and maintains equipment; sterilizes glassware.
