Job summary

The Pharmacy Technician I at UMC Health System assists the Pharmacist and other hospital staff in providing quality care to patients by applying knowledge and training of medication distribution. They accurately process medication orders, deliver drugs to units, and maintain daily logs.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED and Texas Board of Pharmacy registration. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and knowledge of medical terminology are essential in daily interactions

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the State of Texas Board of Pharmacy required.
• Excellent communication and accuracy in medication handling.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process medication orders and requests, gather and dispense medications
• Deliver drugs to assigned units
• Maintain daily pharmacy logs
• Assist in inventory control, answer phones, and other assigned duties by the Pharmacist and/or Pharmacy Supervisor
• All other assigned duties related to Pharmacy Compliance
