Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy; certification must be maintained as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical duties associated with the preparation of a prescription order.
• Assists in distribution of pharmaceuticals at Student Health Services.
• Assist customers in person and by phone by answering basic questions, locating items, or referring them to the pharmacist for medication-related inquiries.
• Assist in processing outdated pharmaceuticals for disposition.
• Assists with receiving and stocking merchandise.
• Reviews expiration dates for prescription and over-the-counter stocks; assist with disposal of expired medication.
• Participates in bi-annual physical inventory.
• Provides customer service support and maintains general appearance of the pharmacy.
• Assists with scheduling and training of student workers and support staff.
