Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

To assist the pharmacist in pharmaceutical preparation, distribution, and record-keeping functions of pharmaceutical supplies, and perform a variety of technical pharmacy services in the Department, designated satellites, and patient care areas.

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent. College courses preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Two to three years pharmacy technician experience preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Must possess or be eligible for pharmacy technician registration.
  • Pharmacy technician certification required.
  • Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
  • Ability to set priorities and solve problems.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency requests.
  • Effective communication skills (orally and in writing).
  • Ability to assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
