Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Pharmacy Support Technician to handle inbound calls, collect prescription information, and manage order queues in a busy healthcare setting. You will verify demographics, assist with dispensing software, and help ensure accurate inventory and shipments for specialty orders.

The role requires at least two years in a pharmacy support or healthcare environment, plus National CPhT certification or state licensure. Excellent teamwork and attention to compliance are essential.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls from patients and healthcare professionals.
• Obtain prescription information to properly fill prescriptions.
• Manage queues and work oldest orders first.
• Ensure correct shipment of specialty pharmacy orders.
• Assist pharmacists in dispensing information and adjudication.
• Translate prescription data into pharmacy software accurately.
• Select medications, attach labels, and package information.
• Verify patient demographics, allergies, history, and payer info.
• Maintain inventory including ordering, receiving, stocking.
• Perform other technician duties as needed.

Answer inbound calls from patients, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals
Contact doctors to obtain necessary prescription information to properly fill prescriptions
Manage queues and work oldest orders first
Ensure correct shipment of specialty pharmacy orders
Assist pharmacists in obtaining information needed to dispense and adjudicate medications correctly
Translate prescription and dispensing information accurately into pharmacy dispensing software
Select medications, attach prescription labels, and package prescription information before pharmacist final check
Obtain and verify patient demographics, allergies, medication history, comorbidities, and payer information
Ensure adequate pharmaceutical and supply inventory, including ordering, receiving, verifying, and stocking
Work in other facility areas as needed with technician duties
Comply with applicable federal and state laws and ethical standards
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent preferred
• National CPhT and/or registration/licensure required per employee's residing state's requirements
• Minimum two years pharmacy support experience or healthcare environment experience preferred
• Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
• The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
