McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support distributive pharmacy services within a large hospital network. You will assist licensed pharmacists with preparing and labeling medications, preparing IVs and unit-dose products, and maintaining critical pharmacy records.
Requirements include a High school diploma or equivalent and a State Pharmacy Technician License (must obtain a full license within 365 days if temp).
The McLaren system includes 12 hospitals across the state, ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, a 730-member employed primary and specialty care physician network, commercial and Medicaid HMOs covering more than 242,000 Michigan lives, home health, infusion and hospice providers, pharmacy services, a clinical laboratory network, and a wholly owned medical malpractice insurance company. McLaren operates Michigan’s largest network of cancer centers and providers, anchored by the Karmanos Cancer Institute, a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. McLaren has 20,000 full-, part-time and contracted employees and more than 93,000 network providers throughout Michigan.
Provides distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the pharmacist. Under the direction and final check of a licensed pharmacist prepares, packages and labels IV and unit dose interim and maintenance medications according to prescriber orders and to established policies and procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Provides for the age specific needs of the population served according to department standards, as evidenced by observation, documentation, and peer feedback.

Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid state Temporary, Limited, or Full Pharmacy Technician License; if current candidate has a state Temporary Pharmacy Technician License, a valid state Full Pharmacy Technician License must be obtained within 365 days of issuance.
Preferred:
Previous pharmacy experience or courses in pharmacy curriculum.
