Job summary

MyCHN, a nonprofit FQHC serving Greater Houston, is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in delivering safe, accurate medication services. You will enter data, prepare medications, and assist with insurance processes while providing excellent customer service.

Ideal candidates have a Texas RPhT and CPhT certification, a high school diploma or GED, and a strong attention to detail. Bilingual in Spanish and retail experience are pluses.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) and CPhT certification required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented mindset with patient care and safety focus.
• Preferred: bilingual in Spanish.
• Preferred: retail or pharmacy experience (1+ year).
• Preferred: formal pharmacy technician training program.

Responsibilities

• Enter and manage patient and prescription data accurately in pharmacy systems.
• Prepare medications including counting, measuring, labeling, and packaging.
• Assist with insurance adjudication, prior authorizations, and refill requests.
• Support prescription processing and work directly with patients and providers.
• Handle transactions, collect payments, and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain accurate records on prescription activity and inventory.
• Ensure a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
• Identify and report safety risks, equipment issues, or compliance concerns.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and team members to ensure smooth operations.
