Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy in Gainesville, Virginia is seeking a Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician I to accurately fill and package prescriptions for delivery to customers. Under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, you will verify information, prepare orders, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED per state requirements.
  • Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration per state requirements; National Certification (PTCB) preferred.
  • 1+ years of related experience (technical knowledge/skills may substitute).
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare prescription orders by verifying information and pulling prescriptions.
  • Label medication packaging, scan, and assemble into bins accurately.
  • Alert pharmacist to medications not scanning properly.
  • Participate in training to gain proficiency in other fulfillment areas.
  • Communicate inventory needs to ensure adequate supply.
  • Maintain inventory levels and organize stock neatly.
  • Assist in physical inventory when needed.
  • Meet established accuracy and productivity targets.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to keep workflow smooth.
  • Keep workstation clean and replenish stock.
  • Comply with laws and policies for dispensing medications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, the Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for the filling and packaging of prescriptions in an accurate and timely manner for delivery to our customers.

Schedule Needed

Flexible availability between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays. Additional hours may be needed at times based on staffing needs and order volume.

Essential Job Functions (include The Following)
  • Prepare prescription orders by verifying information and pulling appropriate prescriptions from inventory.
  • Apply labels to medication packaging, scan and assemble into appropriate bins in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Alert pharmacist on duty of any medication that is not scanning properly.
  • Participate in training and development activities to gain proficiency in other Fulfillment workflow areas.
  • Communicate inventory needs to ensure adequate supply of medication available to complete all orders.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory at appropriate levels, including removing expired or unused meds, marking used bottles and keeping inventory neat and arranged in-order. May assist in physical inventory.
  • Consistently meet pharmacy's established accuracy and productivity levels.
  • Work collaboratively with other supervisors/functional areas to keep work flowing smoothly and efficiently.
  • Maintain clean and orderly workstation. Put medications away and replenish all stock supplies needed.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to the dispensing of prescription medications.
  • Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed
Education And Certifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (per state requirements)
  • Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements); National Certification preferred (PTCB)
