Description

The Pharmacy Technician position involves assisting with medication preparation for dispensing under the supervision of a pharmacist, following all applicable regulations. The shift is from 2pm to 10:30pm, with IV certification preferred.

Job Summary

The overall purpose of the Pharmacy Technician role is to support pharmacy operations by preparing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current state registration as a pharmacy technician in good standing
  • Pharmacy technician certification preferred
  • IV Certification preferred
Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of drug terminology, calculations, and measurement systems
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and drug use directions
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with computer systems and adaptability to new technologies
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
Essential Functions
  • Data entry of prescriptions and orders
  • Preparation and packaging of medications
  • Labeling and reconstitution of drugs
  • Inventory management and stock procurement
  • Assistance in maintaining pharmacy equipment and cleanliness
  • Participation in medication delivery coordination
  • Training of new technicians and externs as needed
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring patient safety
  • Other duties as assigned
