Baton Rouge General Medical Center is seeking a dependable Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventory, and ensuring accurate records. The role emphasizes patient safety, excellent customer service, and teamwork.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of pharmacy technician experience preferred, a high school diploma or GED, and Trainee or Louisiana Board of Pharmacy certification.

Qualifications

• 1 year of pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, or 2 years of work experience.
• Must have Trainee Certification or Pharmacy Technician Certification from the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare prescriptions for pharmacist verification.
• Maintain over-the-counter stock and prescription inventory at appropriate levels.
• Enter prescription charges and credits into the pharmacy computer system.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, unpacking, storing, rotating, restocking, and replacing medications and supplies.
• Prepackage medications in unit-of-use containers as needed.
• Maintain logs, records, and required documentation accurately.
• Assist customers by phone, at the service window, and through medication-related support requests.
