The technician assists with prescription processing, labeling, and patient pickup while ensuring accuracy and compliance. Responsibilities include data entry of prescriptions and refills, insurance adjudication, inventory management, and supporting transfer of prescriptions between pharmacies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician registration is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with dropping off prescriptions and picking up medications.
• Enter prescriptions and refills into the computer; adjudicate through insurance.
• Handle storage, preparation, labeling, and purchasing of pharmaceuticals per policy.
• Obtain patient insurance information and verify coverage.
• Work with PBMs to process rejected prescriptions.
• Assist with transfer of prescriptions between pharmacies (certified techs).
• Update patient profiles in the electronic health record.
• Maintain inventory levels and manage ordering/removal of medications.
• Work a fluctuating schedule including days, evenings, and Saturday 9am–1pm.
