Genoa Healthcare, part of Optum and UnitedHealth Group, is hiring a Pharmacy Technician in Gary, Indiana. The role focuses on dispensing prescriptions and clerical duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Location at 1100 W. 6th Ave, Gary, IN, with coverage travel as needed. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm CST, supporting behavioral health and specialty pharmacy teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Active/Unrestricted Indiana Pharmacy Technician license required.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Fills prescription orders under direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
• Orders, receives and stores incoming pharmacy supplies.
• Receives and processes wholesaler medication orders.
• Verifies medication stock and enters data to maintain inventory records.
• Works with the Pharmacist to assist in pharmacy functions and ensure compliance with federal/state requirements.
• Performs various clerical duties in the department.
• Communicates with strong professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Packages prescriptions and handles related tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma/GED

Active and Unrestricted Pharmacy Technician License in Indiana
