Job summary

Genoa Healthcare, part of UnitedHealth Group, seeks a Pharmacy Technician in Gary, Indiana. You will support dispensing prescriptions and clerical duties under a licensed pharmacist, with a Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:00pm CST schedule.

Location is 1100 W. 6th Ave, Gary, IN 46402 with travel to cover PTO as needed. Pay is $16.00–$29.00 hourly; comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Active and Unrestricted Pharmacy Technician License in Indiana.
• Access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Fills prescription orders under direct supervision of the pharmacist.

We seek a Pharmacy Technician to support all functions of the Genoa mental health and specialty pharmacy primarily through dispensing medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties while under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Location: Your home site will be 1100 W. 6th Ave, Gary, IN 46402, but you will need to be able to travel to cover for PTO as business needs arise

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm CST

Primary Responsibilities:

• Fills prescription orders and makes them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist
• Orders, receives and stores incoming pharmacy supplies
• Receives and processes wholesaler medication orders
• Verifies medication stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records
• Works with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keeping the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements
• Performs various clerical duties relating to the department
• Communicates with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
• Package prescriptions
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification
• Pharmacy and prescription data entry experience
