Job Summary
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will enter and process prescriptions into the pharmacy operating system with speed and accuracy, communicate with customers on the telephone, and support a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Enter new and refill prescriptions into the operating system accurately and in a timely manner to eliminate dispensing errors.
- Triage incoming fax prescriptions, ensuring timely dispensing.
- Maintain proper notes in the computer and cycle fill coding.
- Calculate and/or verify the correct dosage based on the prescription.
- Respond to customer calls courteously and route them appropriately to provide top-level service.
- Ensure all prescriptions assigned for processing are completed during the shift.
- Receive, evaluate, process and follow-up on refills with doctors’ offices.
- Develop proficiency in all pharmacy systems (document imaging, legacy pharmacy software, etc.).
- Assist when needed with filing completed orders, packaging medications, inventory, profiling orders for medical records, and dispensing processed prescriptions.
- Meet delivery deadlines by developing and learning pharmacy cycles.
- Maintain data-entry records for cycle medication, fill requests, and renewal orders.
- Assign additional duties as needed.

Qualifications & Certifications
- High-school Diploma or GED (per state requirements).
- Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements); National Certification preferred (PTCB).
- 2+ years of related experience (advanced degree may substitute).
- Advanced computer skills and pharmacy operations system experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving ability with minimal direction.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- High-performance in a fast-paced, team-oriented, multi-task environment while meeting strict deadlines.
- Quality-minded with a mindset to identify errors and seek corrections.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm; work on every 4th weekend rotation.
Work Environment
