Altruix, a specialty-focused pharmacy in Uniontown, PA, seeks a Pharmacy Technician – Data Entry to support patients and provider partners with data entry, benefit investigations, prior authorizations, medication access, and financial assistance.

This role performs data entry into pharmacy systems, processes prescriptions, manages inventory, and coordinates with facilities to ensure timely order processing, while maintaining compliance with state regulations.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active Pharmacy Technician registration with the applicable State Board of Pharmacy.
• Two or more years of Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.

Altruix is seeking a Pharmacy Technician – Data Entry to join our specialty team in Uniontown, PA. You will be supporting our patients and provider partners with data entry, benefit investigations, prior authorizations, medication access, and financial assistance.

Compensation: For this role ranges from $18.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Entry & Coordination:

• Input patient data and medication orders into pharmacy systems
• Process prescriptions, including filling, packaging, and labeling medications in accordance with state regulations
• Support high-volume production workflows, ensuring accuracy and productivity standards are met
• Maintain and update resident profiles, including medication changes and order clarifications
• Process inbound faxes and triage new prescriptions from facilities
• Communicate with internal teams and partner facilities to ensure timely and accurate order processing
• Assist with inventory management and periodic cycle counts
• Handle returned medications for credit or proper disposal
• Answer incoming calls and assist with inquiries as needed
• Support team members and assist with training when applicable
• Escalate issues or concerns to the Pharmacy Manager as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Benefits Investigation & Prior Authorization:

• Complete benefits investigations and verify prescription coverage
• Coordinate prior authorizations from submission through approval, denial, or appeal
• Utilize CoverMyMeds and payer/provider portals to submit and track authorization requests
• Coordinate with providers to obtain required documentation and assist with appeals and letters of medical necessity

Access, Assistance & Communication:

• Identify patient financial assistance options, including copay cards, manufacturer assistance programs, foundations/grants, and state-funded programs
• Support Medicare Part D patients with coverage and available assistance resources
• Communicate authorization and medication-access updates to patients, caregivers, providers, facilities, and internal pharmacy teams
• Troubleshoot insurance, billing, and medication-access issues and elevate when appropriate
• Maintain accurate documentation within pharmacy, CRM, payer, and provider systems
• Support specialty and LTC pharmacy workflows and provide cross-functional support as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED
• Active Pharmacy Technician registration with the applicable State Board of Pharmacy
• Knowledge of pharmacy insurance processing and prescription benefits preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities with strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn multiple pharmacy and insurance platforms
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred
• Two or more years of Pharmacy Technician experience preferred
• Prior experience with prior authorizations, benefits investigations, specialty pharmacy, or patient financial assistance preferred
• Experience with Medicare Part D, Medicaid, commercial insurance, or manufacturer assistance programs preferred
• Familiarity with CoverMyMeds, SuiteRx, Salesforce, Framework, Availity, EHR portals, or similar systems preferred
• Specialty or long-term care pharmacy experience preferred
