Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and pharmacy tech licensure per state requirements; National Certification preferred.
• 2+ years of related experience; strong computer and pharmacy operations system skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Answer facility phone calls promptly and professionally.
• Create telephone orders for refills, new orders, or backup for Order Entry staff.
• Enter refill orders in the pharmacy computer system and triageas needed.
• Follow up with customers in a timely manner after interactions.
• Answer facility questions or refer to the proper resource.
• Collect credit card information over the phone for payments.
• Coordinate with Medical Records to update resident information and create orders.
• Take orders from Doctor’s offices and triage to appropriate queues.
• Review facility faxes daily and address issues with Order Entry.
• Link delivery sheets into ECM and scan prescriptions into ECM.
• Adhere to strict deadlines while managing multiple tasks.

Provide excellent customer service to the facilities in taking orders, answering questions, referring information and phone calls to the appropriate departments.

Essential Job Functions (include the following):

• Answering phone calls from facilities in a timely manner while being professional and courteous
• Creating telephone order for refills, new orders, and/or backup and triaging into the appropriate queues for Order Entry staff to complete.
• Refill orders in pharmacy computer system if facility calls and request (if not complicated)
• Follow up with customers as needed (if you told a customer you would return their phone call, call them back in a timely manner)
• Answering facility questions or referring them to the proper resource for answer
• Take Credit Card information over the phone for payments
• Work with Medical Records to update on resident information, or anything else that is changed. Make telephone orders for medical records and send to appropriate queues for medical records.
• Take orders from Doctor’s offices and triaging to appropriate queues.
• Check assigned facility faxes daily; any issues, contact Order Entry
• Link delivery sheets into ECM.
• Check original prescriptions sent in tote or by mail, scan into ECM and link. If they haven’t been completed leave note for OE to address.
• Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed

Education and/or Certifications:

• High School Diploma or GED, required
• Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements); National Certification preferred (PTCB), preferred

Skills and Qualifications:

• 2+ years of related experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience)
• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
• Ability to solve problems with minimal direction
• Great attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
• Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
