Job summary

Mercy Care Atlanta is seeking a certified Pharmacy Technician to join our day shift team in the Atlanta area. You will work under the supervision of a Pharmacist, perform data entry, dispense meds, manage inventory, and maintain patient records with HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program or two years of college with emphasis in math, science, or medical field applications.
• Active Pharmacy Technician registration in the State of Georgia.
• Active status as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with PTCB or NHA preferred; CPHT required within 6 months.
• Minimum of two years of pharmacy work experience in retail or ambulatory/outpatient clinic setting.
• Health center pharmacy experience preferred and 340B, MAP experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect and enter prescription data accurately into the pharmacy system.
• Prepare, package, and distribute medications per established protocols.
• Greet patients, answer phones, and respond to EHR messages.
• Process payments and manage point-of-sale transactions.
• Handle medication charges, credits, and returns.
• Maintain inventory and stock levels.
• Prepare medication deliveries for Mercy Care locations.
• Support pharmacy students and residents during training.
• Uphold HIPAA standards and confidentiality of patient information.
