The Pharmacy Technician - Ambulatory supports a high-volume outpatient pharmacy at Main Campus, processing approximately 1,100 prescriptions per day. Caregivers in this role prepare prescription orders, maintain inventory, operate the point-of-sale system and support complex non-sterile compounding in accordance with USP <795> guidelines. Responsibilities also include bulk and extemporaneous compounding, monitoring inventory and reorder points, restocking products and removing expired medications. Caregivers may also provide support across multiple pharmacy locations based on departmental needs.
A caregiver in this position will work full-time, Monday through Friday, rotating 8-hour shifts between the hours of 6:30 am and 6:30 pm. Caregivers also participate in a rotating weekend schedule approximately every 8th-9th weekend and a holiday rotation approximately once every three years.
