Your Job:
The Pharmacy Technician will assist in performing paraprofessional tasks to ensure high-quality pharmacy service.

Supports the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.

Your Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• IV certification preferred
• Registered technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or Pharmacy student current Pharmacy Intern License
• 1 year of Pharmacy experience required
• Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred
• Computer skills preferred, but not required
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and patient privacy standards set by the department as well as hospital

Your Job Responsibilities

• Answer the telephone and front window.
• Compound products in IV Lab using sterile, aseptic technique.
• Gather items needed for requisitions, orders, crash carts, etc., for pharmacist review prior to dispensing.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area; restock medications and supplies as needed.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and supplies, notifying purchasing when items are low or usage increases.
• Maintain drug storage systems through restocking and troubleshooting.
• Perform unit inspections outside the department.
• Make scheduled and non-scheduled rounds to nursing units for medication delivery and pickup.
• Process charges and credits for various medication sheets and returns into the computer system.
• Prepare medications in assigned areas for final dispensing.
• Train new employees as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
