Job Description :

Your Job: The Pharmacy Technician will assist in performing paraprofessional tasks to ensure high-quality pharmacy services. Supports the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.

Your Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• IV certification preferred
• Registered technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or current Pharmacy Intern License
• 1 year of pharmacy experience preferred
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Computer skills preferred, but not required
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and patient privacy standards set by the department and hospital

Your Job Responsibilities:

• Answer the telephone and assist at the front window
• Compound products in IV Lab using sterile, aseptic technique
• Gather items needed for requisitions, orders, crash carts, etc., for pharmacist check
• Maintain clean and orderly work area; restock medications and supplies
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels and notify purchasing of low or high usage items
• Maintain drug storage systems and perform troubleshooting
• Conduct unit inspections outside the department
• Make scheduled and non-scheduled rounds to nursing units for medication delivery and collection
• Process charges and credits for medications and supplies into the computer system
• Prepare medications in assigned areas for final dispensing
• Train new employees as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned
