Job summary

Geisinger is seeking an entry-level Pharmacy Technician to support medication delivery and inventory management within a clinical setting. The role involves basic patient and provider communication, inventory tasks, and adherence to hospital policies.

Responsibilities include preparing and labeling medications, using the pharmacy computer system for patient care, maintaining records, and participating in onboarding new staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician within 2 years (PTCB or NHA).
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, Technician or Intern with the PA State Board.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient/provider/customer care.
• Use the pharmacy computer system to facilitate patient care.
• Participate in patient/provider/customer care activities that do not require a pharmacist.
• Prepare and label medications for distribution.
• Retrieve, review and manage inventory for medications and supplies.
• Maintain pharmacy records.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the pharmacy per policies.
• Onboard and train new pharmacy personnel.
