Mercy is hiring a Pharmacy Technician Buyer I for a full-time day shift in Springfield, MO. The role combines pharmacy knowledge with purchasing and inventory management to keep medications stocked and accessible for patients and caregivers.

You will manage purchasing from wholesalers, monitor stock levels, handle special orders, and support compliance and reporting. A high school diploma and active tech registration are required, with potential for CPhT within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active Pharmacy Technician registration is required or ability to obtain by first day of employment.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience.
• Ability to obtain Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage medication purchasing and procurement through wholesale and direct suppliers.
• Monitor inventory levels and adjust stock to meet patient care needs.
• Coordinate special orders and hard-to-find medications.
• Assist with controlled substance ordering and compliance documentation.
• Process invoices, credits, rebates, and purchasing records.
• Track medication shortages and communicate availability updates.
• Generate inventory and usage reports.
• Support pharmacy inventory audits and physical inventories.
• Collaborate with pharmacy leaders, buyers, and healthcare teams to ensure efficient operations.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to internal departments and pharmacy stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
