Naval Medical Center San Diego seeks a Pharmacy Technician (Automation/Informatics) to support automation systems and informatics within the pharmacy. You will troubleshoot hardware/software, maintain interfaces with electronic health records, and assist in dispensing medications via automated equipment.

The role requires one year of specialized experience and may prefer candidates with a Pharmacy Technician license.

About the Position:

This is a Pharmacy Technician (Automation/Informatics) position located at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California.

Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience includes

• 1) troubleshooting pharmacy hardware, software, or network issues,
• 2) maintaining pharmacy databases or electronic health record interfaces,
• 3) compiling medication usage or quality assurance data,
• 4) processing and dispensing medications while operating automated dispensing equipment.

Education:

One full academic year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Pharmacology. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Combination of Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Candidates with a Pharmacy Technician License are highly preferred.
