Job summary

Walgreens is transforming pharmacy technician roles to focus on patient care. As a Pharmacy Technician or Apprentice, you will be front and center, engaging with customers and building strong patient relationships.

The program is recognized by ASHP and the Department of Labor and supports earning while learning to become a PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician. New and experienced technicians train to use advanced systems, maintain accuracy, and support pharmacists in delivering high quality care.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately (counting, measuring, weighing).
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy.
• Process prescriptions using pharmacy systems and assist with third-party claims as needed.
• Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Greet, assist and advise customers to meet product and service needs.
• Support inventory management and store operations as directed by managers.
