Job summary

Walgreens in New Jersey is seeking a Pharmacy Technician or Technician Apprentice to join a patient-centric team. This role emphasizes customer interaction, on-the-job training, and growing into a certified technician through the ASHP & DOL-backed apprenticeship program.

You will gain hands-on experience in dispensing, customer service, and pharmacy operations under supervision, with a path to PTCB certification as you progress in your career with Walgreens.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Preference for six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Preference for prior Walgreens experience.
• Preference for good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Preference for computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist under supervision in dispensing and maintaining accuracy of prescriptions.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Provide a distinctive and delightful customer experience and greet customers to offer assistance.
• Enter patient and drug information, check for interactions, and support workflow with the Pharmacy Team.
• Maintain inventory, assist with cash handling, and support clerical duties as assigned.
