Job summary

Walgreens is expanding its pharmacy technician role to focus on patient care and relationship-building with customers. The program emphasizes training, certification goals, and progression toward becoming a certified pharmacy technician through ASHP/DOL-guided pathways.

New technicians and apprentices will learn to support pharmacists, operate pharmacy systems, and deliver a high-quality customer experience while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in dispensing and pharmacy duties.
• Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems; assist with prescriptions and cashier operations.
• Support inventory management, ordering, receiving, and stock control for Rx drugs.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist and adhere to quality improvement procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service, greet customers, and help locate products.
