Job summary

Walgreens is transforming its pharmacy technician roles toward a patient-centric approach, with training and an apprenticeship program to help you become a certified technician. You'll work closely with pharmacists, assist in prescriptions, and engage with customers to build strong relationships.

The program is designed to train entry-level technicians and provide ongoing skill development, supported by Walgreens’ extensive resources and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior Walgreens experience.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate counting and measuring.
• Prefer good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist under supervision in the practice of pharmacy and support pharmacy operations.
• Process prescriptions using pharmacy systems and verify information for accuracy.
• Deliver a distinctive, patient-centric customer experience.
• Support inventory management, ordering, unpacking, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
• Handle cash registers and assist customers at the OTC aisle when possible.
• Coordinate with pharmacists and healthcare providers on clinical services as needed.
