Job summary

Walgreens is transforming its pharmacy technician roles to be more patient-centered, offering an apprentice path to become a PTCB-certified technician. The program provides hands-on experience with state-of-the-art systems and extensive training to build a career in pharmacy care.

Both new entrants and experienced technicians will be trained, with opportunities to grow as a certified technician, and to serve patients with care and accuracy in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Six months of retail experience preferred.
• Prior Walgreens experience preferred.
• Good math skills for filling prescriptions.
• Computer skills and inventory knowledge preferred.
• PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy and related duties.
• Uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions; may coach technicians.
• Delivers a distinctive and patient-focused customer experience.
