Job summary

MultiCare Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the Good Samaritan Hospital team in Puyallup, WA. This staff-level role supports non-discretionary pharmacy tasks, data entry, and inventory management under pharmacist supervision.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and current WA State Pharmacy Technician Certification; National Certification preferred. Driving may be required for MHS vehicle use.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by the Washington State Department of Health.
• Successful completion of National Pharmacy Technician Certification Program (preferred).
• If required to drive a MHS vehicle, a driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ordering of supplies from wholesaler and direct accounts, and verify items received against invoices.
• Store items received and assist in maintaining stock levels, including dating and initialing invoices and/or packing slips upon receipt.
• Enter customer’s medication and billing information into computer system.
• Answer and screen telephone calls and forwarding as needed.
• Perform extemporaneous compounding under pharmacist supervision.
• Drive a MultiCare Health System vehicle if required; a valid driver’s license is required.

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Technician is an exciting staff-level opportunity at MultiCare, assisting in manipulative and non-discretionary functions of the practice of pharmacy. In this role, you will apply your organizational skills and attention to detail for successful daily work operations.

Responsibilities

• You will assist in ordering of supplies from wholesaler and direct accounts, and verifies items received against invoices
• You will store items received and assist in maintaining stock levels, to include dating and initialing invoices and/or packing slips upon receipt
• You will enter customer’s medication and billing information into computer system
• You will answer and screen telephone calls and forwards as needed
• You will perform extemporaneous compounding under pharmacist supervision
• If required to drive a MHS vehicle, a driver’s license is required.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

• The pay scale is $25.25 - $41.73 USD.
• However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
• If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
