Job description

The shift is from 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, with no weekends or holidays, and an evening shift differential.

Job Responsibilities

1. Prepares and delivers medications to patients and/or nursing units under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
2. Demonstrates competence in working across various general and specialized areas of pharmacy practice.
3. Participates in training new employees.
4. Fills and delivers medications under supervision.
5. Follows policies and procedures consistently.
6. Ensures adequate supplies for continuous patient care.
7. Triages and escalates questions outside the technician scope to the pharmacist or supervisor.
8. Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
9. Maintains quality assurance according to departmental and legal standards.
10. Operates pharmacy equipment properly.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Compensation Range

$20.68 - $32.05 per hour

Minimum Requirements

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. At least 6 months of relevant experience.
3. Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required.
4. CPhT credential through NHA or PTCB required. For hires before Feb 1, 2020, certification is required by Jan 31, 2022.

Physical Demands

Standing for prolonged periods, proficient communication, auditory and visual skills, attention to detail, ability to write legibly, and ability to lift/push/pull less than 20 lbs.
