Core Job Functions
- Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records.
- Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.
- Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs.
- Assists with compounding (didactic and/or basic hands‑on).
- Participates in assigned training program and continuing education activities to attain competency in different technician duty areas.
- Volunteers for extra assignments and/or cross training in other department roles and responsibilities of a pharmacy technician; may volunteer to participate in a temporary task force/short‑term committee.
- Acts as an informal resource for other technicians with less experience.
- Provides support in the training of students and onboarding of new pharmacy technicians.
- Serves as a mentor and role model.
- Stays abreast of advanced knowledge and proficient practice in pharmacy dispensing, medication dispensing systems, controlled substance distribution to floors, pre‑packing and any other pharmacy technician duties.
- Adheres to University and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
Certification and Licensing:
Vailid State of Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license required
