The University of Miami is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to collect and verify patient information, assist pharmacists with dispensing, and manage supplies in a university health system.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma and a Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license. Prior experience is not required; training will be provided to attain competency in pharmacy duties and standards.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records.
2. Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.
3. Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs.
4. Refers providers' calls and medical questions to Pharmacist.
5. Participates in orientation and assigned training program to attain competency in pharmacy technician duties.
6. Stays abreast of basic knowledge of pharmacy law, regulations and standards, pharmacy informatics and technology including medication dispensing systems, and pharmacy calculations.
7. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license

Certification and Licensing

Vaild State of Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license required
