The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for providing pharmacy services, including dispensing and preparing pharmaceuticals, performing inventory control, compliance audits, and financial transactions, providing customer service, and maintaining pharmacy records. The Technician works as part of an interdisciplinary patient care team under the direction of the Pharmacist Supervisor and may assist in training staff under a Pharmacy Technical Supervisor or Pharmacy Technician Trainer.
Minimum Qualifications
- California Licensed Pharmacy Technician
- At least 2 years of recent Outpatient Pharmacy Technician experience.
- Knowledge of third‑party insurances, Medicare Plan‑B, and/or manual claims.
- Knowledge of current Medi‑Cal Formulary and other third‑party billing systems.
- Knowledge of current California Pharmacy Law.
- Working knowledge of pharmacy terminology, generic/brand name drugs and abbreviations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and working knowledge within a UCDMC Outpatient Pharmacy
- Experience and working knowledge of Sterile and Non‑Sterile Compounding
- Ability to operate Pharmacy Information System and other computer programs.
