Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Central Fulfillment Center in Irving, TX. This full-time, morning-shift position involves filling prescriptions under a pharmacist, using automation and manual workflows to ensure accuracy and timely orders.

You will operate in a fast-paced, closed-door environment with scanning/counting technology, maintain inventory and equipment uptime, and assist with system documentation and packaging processes as needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote proper Pharmacy, safety, and security procedures.
• Use scanning/counting tech to identify and fill prescriptions accurately.
• Ensure counting devices are replenished and functioning.
• Maintain the pharmacy system and technologies for counting, packing, and shipping.
• Monitor inventory and machine uptime; troubleshoot jams and blockages.
• Create and maintain documentation; manually fill prescriptions when needed.
• Verify product attributes (size, strength, quantity) and record expiration dates and lot numbers.
• Ensure prescription labels are correct and shipments are prepared as needed.
• Stock and rotate merchandise to limit shrinkage; assist inventory techs.
• Participate in inventory audits and other duties as assigned.

What You Will Be Doing

The Pharmacy Technician at the Central Fulfillment Center is responsible for working in a closed-door, fast-paced pharmacy facility on a production line. They are responsible for filling prescriptions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician will work with prescription filling automation technologies and semi-manual/manual workstations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of orders and maintain a continuous and consistent workflow to help meet team goals.

The position is based in Irving, TX. We are looking for a full-time pharmacy technician to work in the morning shift.

• Sunday and Wednesday: 6:15 to 2:45 PM
• Saturday: 7:00am to 3:30 PM
• as needed for other days

Main Responsibilities

• Follow and promote proper Pharmacy, general safety, and security procedures and processes of the company.
• Use scanning and counting technologies to identify and select appropriate pharmaceutical products and quantities for filling prescription orders.
• Ensuring medication counting devices are continuously replenished.
• Assist with maintaining the pharmacy system and technologies that facilitate proper counting, conveyance, packaging, and shipping of prescriptions.
• Monitoring inventory and supply levels at the responsible stations, calibrating machines, general troubleshooting (jams, blockages) within conveyance, counting, and packaging machines, escalating technical issues, and working as a team to reach team goals.
• Monitoring and maintaining uptime of automated counting, collating, packaging, and sorting devices, ensuring continuous operation through basic troubleshooting of routine errors.
• Create and maintain documentation as requested.
• Manually fill prescriptions as needed.
• Verify attributes of the product such as: size, strength, quantity, etc. before processing orders. Enter or scan expiration date and lot numbers.
• Ensure labels on prescriptions are correct.
• Prepare packages, sort, and manifest prescription orders if needed.
• Stock and rotate merchandise and supplies to limit shrinkage if needed.
• Assist Inventory Technicians as requested.
• Participate in Inventory Audits as needed.
• Other duties as assigned concurrent with all applicable laws and regulations.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience

• Required:
  • Pharmacy Technician License in Texas.
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of patient information.
• Preferred:
  • A national Pharmacy Technician Certification.
• Technical Experience:
  • Central Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician experience.
  • Prefers to work in a closed-door environment (no adjudication, customer interaction, phone work.)
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good math skills.

Physical Requirements

• Willing and able to stand/walk at least 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willing and able to perform tasks which include pushing, pulling, grasping, bending, stooping, rotating, reaching, and lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Visual focus such as counting, observing, etc. is required consistently.
• Performing repetitive tasks up to 100% of the time
