Job summary

Equity Staffing Group is seeking a Pharmacy Floor Technician to join a fast-paced pharmacy team in Texas. You will accurately prepare prescriptions for final pharmacist verification, including picking, labeling, scanning, and packaging medications.

Requirements include a Texas Pharmacy Technician License, ability to work alternating shifts, weekends, and overtime, and strong attention to detail. Prior pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare completed prescriptions for final pharmacist verification.
  • Notify the pharmacist of scanning discrepancies or issues.
  • Process returned medications according to procedures.
  • Recycle or dispose of medications properly.
  • Prepack frequently ordered medications when volume is low.

Job description

Equity Staffing Group is seeking a Pharmacy Floor Technician to join a fast-paced pharmacy team. This position is responsible for accurately preparing prescriptions for final pharmacist verification, including picking, labeling, scanning, and packaging medications.

Schedule
  • Week 1: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
  • Week 2: 11:30 AM-8:30 PM
  • Every other weekend: Saturday & Sunday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
  • Overtime and holiday coverage may be required
Responsibilities
  • Fill daily medication orders accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision
  • Pick medications from shelving and designated storage areas
  • Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy
  • Prepare completed prescriptions for final pharmacist verification
  • Notify the pharmacist of medications or products that do not scan correctly
  • Process returned medications according to established procedures
  • Recycle or dispose of medications appropriately
  • Prepack frequently ordered medications during lower-volume periods
  • Package medications and other materials manually as needed
  • Maintain an organized workstation and replenish supplies
  • Follow all pharmacy policies, safety procedures, and attendance requirements
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active and clear Texas Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
  • Ability to work accurately at a moderate pace in a production-focused environment
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to work the required alternating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Pharmacy Technician experience
  • Experience in a high-volume or production pharmacy environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Dependable with strong organizational and time-management skills
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and bend throughout the workday
  • Ability to sit or stand for approximately 7-10 hours per day
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity to handle medications, packaging, and equipment
  • Visual acuity necessary to read fine print, labels, and medication information
  • Ability to distinguish colors and adjust visual focus
  • Ability to hear normal conversational speech
