Description

Summary:
Assists the pharmaceutical staff in expediting and delivering quality care to the patients at Danbury Hospital. Ensures that products and services are provided in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner according to department policies, procedures, and practice standards.

Responsibilities

• Fills "Below Minimum" reports of the Med Select system utilized by the nursing units to ensure appropriate medication levels. Delivers medications to patient care units and ancillary departments.
• Participates in staff meetings to identify & resolve issues & establish quality improvement processes.
• Receives and processes shipments of pharmaceuticals.
• Deals courteously and tactfully with patients & staff.
• Meets department standards for attendance, punctuality, customer service, telephone communication & cost containment.
• Operates pharmacy information systems.
• Attends safety training and complies with standards.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: HS Graduate or equivalent
