Job summary

The VA Health Care System seeks Pharmacy Technicians to support inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations. You will assist pharmacists with dispensing medications, processing prescriptions, and ensuring VA regulatory compliance.

This role requires a CPhT with an active license and a minimum of two years of pharmacy technician experience, preferably VA experience. You will manage inventory, operate VISTA/CPRS, handle controlled substances records, and educate patients under pharmacist

Job description

We are seeking Pharmacy Technicians to support the inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations at the VA Health Care System. This role requires assisting pharmacists with dispensing medications, managing inventory, processing prescriptions, and ensuring compliance with VA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications.
• Process inpatient and outpatient prescription orders following VA protocols.
• Manage medication inventory, including stocking, ordering, and verifying expiration dates.
• Operate pharmacy automation systems and electronic medical records (VISTA/CPRS).
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for controlled substances.
• Provide medication education and support to patients under pharmacist supervision.
• Comply with all VA regulations and safety protocols.

Compensation Details:

• Hourly Pay Rate (Taxable): $28.84/hour
• Overtime Pay Rate (Taxable): $43.26/hour
• Weekly Fringe Benefits (Non-Taxable): $197.20 ($4.93/hour)
• Total Weekly Gross Package: $1,350.80

Requirements:
