And everyone, in their own unique way, plays an important part, every day.Under the direct supervision of a technician supervisor and pharmacist, performs medication related tasks such as packaging, preparation of all forms of medications, record keeping, and all non judgmental aspects of drug distribution.**Hiring Range:**$22.29 - $36.69I. Major Responsibilities:1. Performs duties in assigned practice area. Required to work in other practice areas, as staffing requires. 2. Processes orders using pharmacy computer system. Delivers patient medications to medication room areas and stocks automated medication stations (Pyxis machines). 3. Familiar with pharmacy technology and equipment. Capable of troubleshooting routine technical problems. 4. Prepares and packages most forms of medications. Prepares sterile products using aseptic technique in compounding parenteral nutrition, antibiotics, and other IV drugs. 5. Maintains inventory including floor stock medication. Reorders, restocks, and monitors expiration dates of all medications. 6. Maintains required documentation in accordance with regulatory and hospital requirements and maintains respect for patient confidentiality. Assists in generating pharmacy reports. 7. Conducts medication room inspections in assigned patient care area in accordance with regulatory requirements. 8. Assembles drugs in an accurate and efficient manner for pharmacists to check; maintains a clean and orderly work area. 9. Repackages bulk drugs in unit of use containers. 10. Assists in quality indicator monitoring. 11. Assists with yearly inventory in assigned areas. 12. Participates in identifying problems or areas for improvement and assists supervisor with problem solving projects and improving operations; participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities and/or teams.Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:1. Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives. 2. Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed. 3. Preferred:Experience/Skills:Required: 1. Proficient in math. Knowledge and ability to use a computer for data entry. 2. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions with accuracy, efficiency, and dependability. Preferred:Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies and their measurements, will be developed and maintained in the individual departments.
