Job summary

East Arkansas Family Health Center in West Memphis, AR is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. You will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, process prescriptions, and provide excellent customer service to patients.

Under supervision of a registered pharmacist, you will input prescriptions, help with MTM tasks, handle insurance claims, and support daily pharmacy operations while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Current Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy licensure for Pharmacy technician.
  • Ability to input data on the computer.
  • Read prescriptions including recognizing medication names and directions.

Responsibilities

  • Counts, packages, and labels unit doses for inspection.
  • Input prescriptions and submit insurance claims using pharmacy software.
  • Assist patients with filling prescriptions via multiple channels.
  • Maintain pharmacy equipment and cleanliness per guidelines.
  • Reconstitute powdered medications as needed for patients.
  • Support pharmacists with routine administrative duties.

East Arkansas Family Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team in West Memphis, Arkansas. This position supports the delivery of pharmacy services by assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, processing prescriptions, and providing excellent customer service to patients.

The pharmacy technician provides vital support in the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions and health-care products. They operate under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of medications to patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Counts, packages, and labels unit doses for inspection.
  • Performs a range of routine administrative tasks for the pharmacy as required.
  • Receives and stores incoming drugs and supplies.
  • Utilizes pharmacy software to input prescriptions and submit insurance claims compliant with state and federal regulations.
  • Assists patients with filling prescription requests via pharmacy software, telephone, walk-in, and eClinical encounters.
  • Communicates with other medical team members and patients on a professional level.
  • Performs medication therapy tasks in MTM Outcomes.
  • Utilizes the point-of-sale system to verify the correct patient and complete the sale of the prescription.
  • Cleans and maintains pharmacy equipment based on manufacturer suggestions or board of pharmacy regulations.
  • Reconstitutes powdered medications such as antibiotics for children according to the drug manufacturer formulation.
  • Performs other duties as instructed by Pharmacist.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma.
  • Current Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy licensure for Pharmacy technician.
  • Ability to input data on the computer.
  • Be able to read prescriptions including recognizing medication names and directions for use.
  • Good communication skills with other medical team members and patients.
