PharMerica in Union City, CA is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our closed-door, non-retail pharmacy team serving long-term care and senior living clients.

This role requires California Pharmacy Technician License and strong accuracy with computer skills. You will fill prescriptions, label products, prepare medications (including non-sterile compounding), manage inventory, and support training of new staff. Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy Technician license required by state.
• Experience in a pharmacy setting and medical terminology helpful.
• Ability to operate a computer; recognize and identify medications.
• Detail oriented and team player with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescription items and package medications for dispensing and delivery.
• Accurately label products with cautions and auxiliary labels.
• Prepare medications, including non-sterile compounding.
• Enter patient and prescription data into the computer system.
• Assist with inventory management and handling of returns per protocol.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
• Assist onboarding and training of new staff.
• Operate automated machines to prepack medications and manage IV room tasks.

As a Pharmacy Technician you will:

• Fill prescription items and package medications for dispensing and delivery.
• Accurately label products, including cautionary and auxiliary labels.
• Prepare medications, including non-sterile compounding (liquids, powders, ointments, etc.).
• Enter patient and prescription data into the computer system to generate labels.
• Participate in pharmacy inventory management, including checking stock and removing expired medications.
• Handle returned medications per protocol (credit or destruction).
• Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
• Assist with onboarding and training new pharmacy staff.
• Perform specialized tasks such as:
• Working in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room.
• Operating automated machines to prepack medications.
• Mixing IV medications and sanitizing IV room/equipment.
• Servicing facility-based dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
• Perform other pharmacy support tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician license as required by state
• Experience in a pharmacy setting and medical terminology.
• Ability to operate a computer; recognize and identify medications.
• Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, and effective oral communication.

Desired:

• Long Term Care pharmacy experience.
