Job summary

PharMerica is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician in Memphis, TN to work in a closed-door, non-retail environment serving long-term care and senior living clients.

The role includes filling prescriptions, labeling, non-sterile compounding, inventory management, and training new staff in a supportive team. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in a pharmacy setting and medical terminology are required.
• High school diploma or equivalent and state licensure as a Pharmacy Technician where applicable.
• Ability to operate a computer and manage patient data accurately.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescription items and package medications for dispensing and delivery.
• Label products with cautionary and auxiliary labels accurately.
• Enter patient and prescription data into computer systems for labeling.
• Assist with inventory management and handling returned medications per protocol.
• Support onboarding and training of new staff and operate controlled substances area.

Schedule:

M-F: 9am-8pm, rotating
Sa: 9am-6pm
Su: 10am-3pm

As a Pharmacy Technician you will:

• Fill prescription items and package medications for dispensing and delivery.
• Accurately label products, including cautionary and auxiliary labels.
• Prepare medications, including non-sterile compounding (liquids, powders, ointments, etc.).
• Enter patient and prescription data into the computer system to generate labels.
• Participate in pharmacy inventory management, including checking stock and removing expired medications.
• Handle returned medications per protocol (credit or destruction).
• Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
• Assist with onboarding and training new pharmacy staff.
• Perform specialized tasks such as:
• Working in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room.
• Operating automated machines to prepack medications.
• Mixing IV medications and sanitizing IV room/equipment.
• Servicing facility-based dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
• Perform other pharmacy support tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician license as required by state
• Experience in a pharmacy setting and medical terminology.
• Ability to operate a computer; recognize and identify medications.
• Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, and effective oral communication.

Desired:

• Long Term Care pharmacy experience.
• Position will be posted for a minimum of 7 business day
